Partner Paul Jacobs
With 30 years of legal experience, attorney Paul Jacobs' legal background includes serving as corporate counsel for Thrifty Corporation in Los Angeles. Thrifty Corporation was the parent company for Thrifty Drug Stores, Payless Drug Stores, Big 5 Sporting Goods, Gart Sporting Goods, Crown Books, Trak Auto and Newman Importing. Mr. Jacobs also served as Senior Trial Counsel for the distinguished law firm of Haight, Brown & Bonesteel. While at that firm, Mr. Jacobs represented many high-profile clients, including the State of California, IBM, Carls Jr., Leviton Manufacturing and the Koll Company.
Mr. Jacobs has a bachelor's degree in business administration, as well as in English. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego.
Partner Debra Dodds
With more than 28 years of litigation experience in southern California, Ms. Dodds has extensive experience in defending business professionals. She served as a senior litigator for the Los Angeles based law firm of Booth, Mitchel, Strange & Smith (now Booth, Mitchel & Strange) as well as the prestigious national law firm of Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold.
Ms. Dodds is experienced in both trial and appellate work. She has a bachelor's degree in international relations, graduating with honors in International Relations and English. She obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego, where she was a member of the Moot Court Board and the National Moot Court Team, winning first place and best brief in the National Moot Court Competition Far West Region. She was also a member of the original group that staffed the Center for Public Interest Law. The center serves as a public monitor of the regulatory agencies of the State of California and disseminates the "Regulatory Law Reporter." She received the American College of Trial Lawyers Medal for excellence in advocacy and the Order of the Barristers.
Associate Robert Bastone
Mr. Bastone is experienced in business litigation and transactional matters. Graduating from Loyola Law School in 2008, Mr. Bastone passed the California bar the same year. Active in the legal community, Mr. Bastone has participated in the Inland Empire Latino Lawyers Pro Bono Clinic. Mr. Bastone is a member of the American Bar Association and the Riverside County Bar Association.
